Video: Georgia Hears No Felony Marijuana Bill SB-254

On February 25, 2016 the Georgia Senate Judiciary Non-Civil Committee held a hearing on Senate Bill 254 filed by Sen. Harold Jones II. Sen. Jones was given the opportunity to present the bill. The bill would remove the charge of felony possession for marijuana. Arrest of any amount would be a misdemeanor. Advocates of the bill were allowed to testify. No action was taken on the bill and it will revisited next year.

An unprecedented number of marijuana law reform bills have been filed in the 2015-2016 sessions.

Georgia C.A.R.E. Project considers this hearing a historic event and marks the beginning of harm reduction, harm caused by prohibition.

We would like to thank Sen. Jones for his courage, knowledge and compassion to filed a bill.

Here is the a video of the event.
