    Georgia Lawmaker Files “medical marijuana” Bill HB-1 for 2015

    In what appears to be a publicity stunt Georgia state lawmaker Rep. Allen Peake prefiles what he claims is a “medical marijuana” bill (HB-1). Peake was first in line to file legislation Monday morning. The bill appears to be the former House Bill 885 “Haleigh’s Hope Act” that went down in flames in the 2014 legislative session. Virtually all of the language of the bill have been stricken through leaving the legislation undetermined.

      New Study: Cannabis Can Help Shrink Brain Tumors

      As more research is conducted the benefits of Cannabis in treating cancer and other disease is being revealed. Here is the latest research from London.

      Cannabis can have a dramatic effect on aggressive forms of brain cancer, a new study shows.

      The new research, conducted by specialists at St George’s, University of London, studied the treatment of brain tumors in the laboratory.

      It found the most effective treatment was to combine active chemical components of the cannabis plant, which are known as cannabinoids.

      Two of these – called tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) – were tested as part of the research into brain cancer.

      The new research is the first to show a drastic effect when combining THC and CBD with radiation.

      Dr Wai Liu, Senior Research Fellow and lead researcher on the project, said: ‘The results are extremely exciting.

        Morehouse College Forum on Marijuana Legalization

        Georgia C.A.R.E. director James Bell has been invited by the Morehouse Junior Class Bonner Scholars to speak at a forum on Marijuana Legalization on Thursday November 20th – 6:30 pm on campus. “Up In Smoke” forum will cover topics such as how marijuana laws affects educational and career opportunities, being an activist, medical cannabis and industrial hemp. The public is invited.
