Georgia CARE Project will be participating in the “No More Dreams Denied” Conference Saturday November 16, 2013 – 3:00pm at the Little Five Points Community Center in East Atlanta.
The conference will focus on mass incarceration, the failing war on drugs and other civil and human rights issues.
James Bell director of Georgia CARE said this event is a part of an ongoing effort to bring together reformers from the political left and right and unify our goals of reform.
“The war on drug has filled our jails and prisons with millions of non-violent people and has done little to address the issue of drug use and abuse”, Bell said. “Prohibition causes more harm and problems than it attempt to solve.”
The event is hosted and organized by the Clayton County NAACP and will feature various reform advocates such as NAACP, ACLU, LEAP, FAMM, Georgia CARE, NORML and many other groups and guest speakers (TBA).
